Wooden packing box used to ship hair plumes to Fort Leavenworth for the 10th Cavalry. Rectangular with sides consisting of one piece of wood and bottom made of two tongue and groove pieces, one 8 inches wide and the other 10 inches wide. Pieces are all one inch thick held together by wire nails with flat round heads 2.5 inches long, heads are .25 inches in diameter. Nails are rusted . Bottom is also held on by six screws. Markings on all four sides in black paint, in stenciled lettering.
