Coach lamp; Ohio model. Made of tin, painted black. Body 4" x 4" square lined inside with brass plates and reflector on door & back. Front panel on left side are beveled glass, 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" with cut design. Collar, stem and tip measure 7 1/4" overall. Tip (1 3/4") is tapered and rounded, topped with narrow ridge, stem (4 1/8") is 4" in circumference, collar begins with narrow ridge and spreads, with two divisions, to circular shape 2 1/2" in diameter, topped with beveled square, 3 1/8" x 3 1/8". Body of lamp topped with panel; beveled square 3 1/8" x 3 1/8"; approx. 3/4" high. Vented with 1 3/4" cylinder, topped with 4" square lower head, vented cylinder, and 2 3/4" square upper head. Head is 2 1/2" in height overall. Door of body attached with single hinges latches at its base. Interior base of lamp has round opening, 1 1/2" in diameter, in center, extending down into stem. Brass follower is 1 1/2" high, is mounted on cylinder, 1 1/4" high, to be inserted into opening at lamps' base. Lamp appears to be designed to use candles (no apparatus for kerosene lamp wick), but is missing the spring that would fit into the base opening. Back panel of lamp body is slightly bowed outward, with a 2" metal rod bent downward at a right angle and threaded at its end, serving as hook, attaching lamp to carriage. Wing-nut holding lamp to carriage is missing. Glass is chipped at bottom of front panel.
